Follow pack instructions, protect hazelnuts from moisture and strong odours, and account for opened packs and differences between product forms.
Start with the storage instructions on the pack. In-shell hazelnuts, kernels, flour and hazelnut spread should not be treated as identical products. Processing and packaging differences can affect appropriate storage.
Protect the product from direct sunlight, heat sources, moisture and strong odours. Read the date marking together with storage instructions. If transferring the contents, retain the product name, date and lot information.
Reseal the pack appropriately or use a clean, lidded container suitable for food. Avoid introducing moisture through wet utensils or hands. Follow any specific after-opening instructions for products such as spread; do not assume all spreads either require or do not require refrigeration.
If considering cold storage, check the product instructions. Limit exposure to odours and moisture, and consider condensation when opening a product taken from a cold environment. A single shelf-life estimate should not be applied to every product and pack.
Contact the seller rather than consuming a product with visible mould, unexpected odour or damaged packaging. Normal appearance or taste does not replace food-safety testing. If you have a hazelnut allergy, follow your healthcare professional's advice about avoidance; storage does not remove the allergen.

Instead of repeatedly opening a large pack, transfer the amount you expect to use soon into a small, clean, dry container. Close the main pack and label the smaller container with the product name, pack date and opening date. Empty, clean and thoroughly dry the container before adding a new lot rather than topping up old remnants. This arrangement does not establish a new shelf life.
If the product instructions allow refrigerated storage, check the refrigerator with a separate thermometer. FDA’s general refrigerator recommendation is 4 °C or below; this does not mean every hazelnut spread must be refrigerated. Use a container that protects against moisture and odours. After removing a cold container, avoid opening it immediately; reducing the temperature difference helps limit condensation. (FDA, safe food storage)
An unopened pack’s date is established for its processing, packaging and validated storage conditions. Do not assume the same period automatically applies after opening. Follow the current instructions on your EZMINO pack. If the date is illegible or instructions are missing, contact us with the lot details.
